November 16-23, 2019 | Yoga, Meditation, & Breathwork
NOVEMBER 16-23rd, 2019 @ PRANA DEL MAR, MEXICO
- The Retreat -
"Everybody needs to take time, in some way, to quiet themselves and really listen to their heart." –Jack Kornfield
I am thrilled to be returning to one of my favorite retreat centers – Prana del Mar – for a rich week of resting in the heart of presence.
The Zen beauty of Baja offers the ideal environment for a Fall retreat and opportunity to pause, reflect, and renew. This week-long immersion will support body, mind, and soul, weaving yoga asana (Vinyasa, Yin, & Restorative), breathwork journeying, meditation, and dharma talks & discussion (drawing from Classical Yoga, Tantra, and Buddhist philosophy).
You will begin each day with seated meditation, followed by mindful, alignment-based yoga asana to unwind tension, awaken vital energy flow, and bring awareness into the body…and into the present. Enjoy a nourishing breakfast, followed by free time to enjoy as you please – bathing in the sun, walking on the beach, napping on your chaise lounge, or connecting with others. The afternoon program will include deepening practices, including breathwork journeying (similar to Rebirthing & Holotropic breathwork), yin & restorative yoga, and dharma talks to support personal inquiry and self-reflection. After a gourmet dinner, we will close each day with silent meditation.
This retreat is intended for mature practitioners seeking the time, structure and support to be in an intentional space of mindfulness, growth, and ultimately, release of the past so one can be more fully available to the blossoming of the present. In stepping out of your daily life and routine, you will have the opportunity to reconnect with the deepest aspects of your Being and gain clarity and perspective, supporting you to recalibrate, refocus, and re-engage your life with conscious awareness, intention, and sovereignty.
PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS: It is recommended that you have a solid foundation in yoga asana to support more advanced inquiry and subtlety. This does not infer advanced shapes and poses, but rather a capacity for presence and active listening (and response) in the practice. We will be sitting for approximately 1-1.5 hours of meditation per day, so participants should also have prior experience with Vipassana/Insight-based meditation. While breathwork does not require prior experience, it can be physically and emotionally demanding, and is best suited for those who have a baseline of therapeutic/spiritual/mindfulness experience that supports relational context for what might arise in the journeys.
If you have any questions about the nature of the program and whether this retreat aligns for your desired intentions, please contact me and I’d be happy to schedule a time to connect by phone.
This will be an incredibly rich and rewarding week, and I look forward to diving into the magic of the retreat space with you!

ADDITIONAL Q&A FOR YOUR PLANNING:
- Can I swim in the ocean? Generally, the waves and currents on the Pacific coast of Baja are too rough for safe swimming. You will have the opportunity to take an excursion to a swimming-friendly beach, otherwise you might mindfully wade into the breaking waves, or take a dip in the pool.
- What travel documents do I need? You will need a valid passport, and for those coming from the US and Canada, no visa is required. It's always a good idea to bring extra color copies of your passport, and passports can be left in room safes.
- Should I get travel insurance? For international retreats and travel, it's always recommended to have travel insurance.
- What type of currency should I bring? Cash (US dollars) is recommended to pay for spa services, tips and gratuities, and many of the excursions (some outfitters except credit cards, but some do not). There are no ATMs in the immediate vicinity of the resort, so it's a good idea to come with extra cash for anything you might want to enjoy on retreat.
- What type of electric outlets are used? Should I bring a hairdryer? If you are coming from the US or Canada, your electronics will work without an adapter (all of North America uses the same standard plug for 110V connections). Please note that the resort has some hair dryers, but if you NEED one, please bring your own, and consider that their electricity is entirely solar-powered, so discretion is requested.
- How do I get from the airport to the retreat center? Shuttle transfers from San Jose del Cabo (SJD) are included in the retreat. A shuttle will be arranged to meet you at the airport, and it's a 45-minute drive to the resort.
